Heather Wilhelm began playing the violin in 5th grade orchestra, and quickly fell in love with the instrument and its repertoire. The following summer, Heather began taking private lessons from local teacher Megan Cottam. After taking lessons with Megan for five years, Heather began taking lessons with Dr. Xun Sun at Southern Utah University, where she later earned a Bachelors' of Music Degree. Upon graduation, Heather played two concerts with the Wuhan Symphony Orchestra in China with other members the Orchestra of Southern Utah, and then taught orchestra in elementary schools for three years. In 2013, she became a founding member of gypsy jazz band Wilhelm, who she still performs with today. Heather has been playing with the Orchestra of Southern Utah for since 2001, and has been the concertmaster since 2016. She has attended Intermountain Suzuki Strings Institute and received Suzuki teacher training for the last three summers. Heather is a member of SAA and SAU.
